Saffron Corms

SORRY - Saffron Corm orders have now been closed for 2016.  Corms have been replanted & getting ready to flower in April.

However depending on how successful we are at singing & dancing to the Weather & Earth Gods, we hope to be making a number of corms available next season -these will be available in January 2017.

Please feel free to email any time during the year and ask for an order form.  We will then lift the corms in December and send out to you in January.  Those corms will flower in the period from the end of March through to early May 2017.

We are offering corms for sale in packages designed for home gardeners as well as for those contemplating purchasing corms in bulk.

It is important to recognise that (in general) ideal climate conditions for growing saffron mean hot dry summers, some rain in Autumn (ideally prior to harvest), some chilling in Winter and a warm Spring.  Seasonal extremes will affect the ability of the corm to produce at optimum levels.

For further information on growing saffron check the links on our website and also check out the Crop and Food website (look for Growing Saffron in the list of broadsheets).
